The VeloCloud Diagram shows how their SD-WAN solution functions.
There are three components:
1. The Orchestrator
There are close to 70 Orchestrators strategically located throughout the Internet Cloud worldwide. It controls and orchestrates the connections, routing and data quality remediation when necessary
2. The Gateways
There are close to 800 Gateways strategically located throughout the Internet Cloud worldwide as well! The gateways provide access to the VeloCloud System and used for redundant routing when needed. VeloCloud has gateways in Microsoft Azure to ensure cloud reliability for its clients.
3. Edge Device
This is the client’s VeloCloud router edge device that provide redundant Internet connectivity providing metrics to the Orchestrator for routing and data remediation activities.
These three components ensures end-to-end data reliability on the client’s WAN.
VeloCloud has added other technologies that no other competitor is able to provide regarding data remediation. As data travels the Internet from point-to-point worldwide, data can experience packet loss, latencies, jitter to name a few. These conditions greatly affects real-time audio conversations and video conferencing data services. To combat these conditions and others, VelCloud developed and implemented “Dynamic Multi-Path Optimization”, DMPO. See example below.
As the Orchestrator detects these conditions, it utilizes its built-in DMPO technology to remediate damaged real-time data packets on the fly, such that the user does not know a condition had occurred, even with a single Internet connection!
It comes down to data delivery and reliability!
This photo shows a video streaming conference with a 2% packet loss during the transmission.
The audio would not be discernable during a 2% packet loss on a VOIP Phone, both parties would have a negative experience.
